Barefoot in the Park

Sandy's City Council Chambers were recently transformed into the cramped New York apartment of Paul and Corie Bratter for the Sandy Arts Guild's performance of Neil Simon's play "Barefoot in the Park." The play, which ran from Feb. 22 through March 1 on select days, marked the first time a play had been performed in the chambers, which was initially designed to accommodate theatrical performances. Community Events Director Mearle Marsh said that they had a good response from the patrons. Ticket sales for the six-night run were good, considering this is the first production in the council chambers, he said. Lacey Jackson starred as newlywed Corie Bratter and with Dru Watts as the eccentric Vincent Velasco (pictured).
