Amelia's Floral
After providing beautiful floral arrangements for more than 25 years, Amelia Stubblefield moved her business from 12300 South to 925 East Pioneer Road last October. With the new location, Amelia instituted some changes at her shop and wants people to know: "We're still kicking. We're still here."
Although she still creates elegant bridal florals, Amelia is focused on creating a baby boutique and costume shop that offers original, distinctive products. A stop into Amelia's will give customers a fun experience that includes a free bottle of water and a delicious treat.
"We treat each person like a guest when they come into the shop," Amelia says. "We want that old-time feeling that when they come in, they're visiting a friend."
The baby boutique at Amelia's features products from Heelarious, a dealer specializing in high-heel, soft shoes for babies from newborn to six months. Cowboy boots, cheetah or zebra prints, or red pumps can be purchased for the fashion-conscious baby girl. The Mud Pie line offers fun clothing for children featuring princess and ballerina outfits for girls, and sports-themed clothes for boys.
In today's style, big head bows are in—the bigger the better. And customers can find beautiful, colorful and huge bows at Amelia's.
"Our baby boutique is really unique. I don't carry anything you'll find at other stores," Amelia says. "[The selection] is jaw-dropping. It literally has the awe factor."
Open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Amelia's also rents and sells costumes in every design imaginable for children and adults.
Alice in Wonderland characters are popular this year, and so are superheroes, princesses and Star Wars characters. The quality of the costumes is much higher than regular department stores and since the move, Amelia has replenished her costume supply with all new, fun outfits.
But for customers looking for bridal flowers, Amelia's is still the place to go for great quality and fantastic service. Amelia's daughter-in-law Emily Stubblefield creates gorgeous bridal bouquets and has received many accolades from happy brides.
"What people are missing nowadays is knowing the bride and knowing what she wants," Amelia says. "We're very much wanting them to not worry about the flowers. We have a lot of experience behind us."
Amelia's offers a complete bridal package starting at $299. This package includes a bride's bouquet as well as bouquets for the maid-of-honor and two bridesmaids. Also included are corsages for two mothers and two grandmothers plus a boutonniere for the groom and seven additional boutonnieres.
