The artists of Mountain West Ballet present their annual spring production, "Sleeping Beauty," May 20, 21 and 23 at the Sandy Amphitheater. As Sandy city's community-based, non-profit ballet company, Mountain West Ballet is comprised of dancers representing approximately 26 dance schools, colleges and universities along the Wasatch Front.

This fairytale classic will be performed under the stars at 8 p.m. on May 20 and 21, with a 2 p.m. matinee on the 21st as well. A special Monday evening family night performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Sandy Amphitheater is located at 1245 East 9400 South.

"Our fresh adaptation of 'Sleeping Beauty' will captivate audience members of all ages with the harrowing tale of Princess Aurora," said artistic director Jill Mueller. "Elements of magic, intrigue and deception unfold to create this unforgettable and enchanting ballet."

Mueller, along with dance instructors throughout the Salt Lake Valley, encourages students to audition for and participate in Mountain West Ballet's semi-annual productions as a means of enhancing their performance skills and sharing their talents.
