Dave Scott of Sandy raced for gold in October’s St. George, Utah’s Huntsman World Senior Game’s three mountain bike competitions. Scott, 79, won gold medals in all three races for his age category of 75 to 79 of the “sport” classification. In his best race, the downhill, he came in faster than one 57-year-old, three riders in their 60s, four 71-year-olds, and the 77 and 79 year olds in his age group from Canada and California respectively. Two other Sandy mountain bikers also competed. At age 80, Robert Mitchell won two golds in his 80-84 age division, and 61-year-old Randal Bule won three silver medals in his 60-64 “expert” category.
