Union Middle to perform “Beauty and the Beast Jr.”

Union Middle School will present “Beauty and the Beast Jr.,” its first musical in 30 years Feb. 2, 3 and 6 at the school, 615 East 8000 South.

“We’re really excited by this as it’s part of an arts program being built,” said Bryan Stephenson who co-directs the show with Laura Kimball.

The nearly 80 Union Middle students cast members have been rehearsing since September. Carter Walker will play The Beast and Lorelai Cooty will play Belle.

“Beauty and the Beast Jr.” is an 80-minute shortened version of the Broadway production.

General admission is $2. Performances are 7 p.m. each evening. The doors will open at 6:30.
