Ask a Dietician: Free sessions at Optum Community Centers

Nutrition expert offers advice, answers questions as part of free Optum Community Center programming, open to all area seniors.

Across three locations, the Optum Community Centers in Utah offer free health and wellness classes and activities covering a wide range of interests for seniors 55 and older – all led by professionals and experts in their fields.

One current highlight: “Ask a Dietician.” All area seniors are invited to meet an Optum dietician to get general nutrition questions answered by an expert.

“Ask a Dietician” takes place every Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at the Optum Community Centers in Layton and West Valley City. Find full schedules of all available classes and activities at optum.com/utcenters.

Staying physically active is one of the most effective ways to stay healthier and independent as we age . And older adults face heightened risk of loneliness and social isolation, which can contribute to the risk of serious health concerns, including dementia . The active, social environments of the Optum Community Centers address these concerns head-on in a welcoming, supportive environment.
