Around 80 participants gathered on a Saturday morning in June for White City’s fifth annual 5K run and walk. The route began at Big Bear Park, passing Glacier Hills Elementary, crossing the Dimple Dell bridge, looping around the Alta View Elementary and White Towers pool neighborhood and returning to the start. The event was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to encourage outdoor activity and celebrate the new bridge, which connects the White City Trail with the Sandy Canal Trail and offers a continuous path for local walkers and runners. This year’s top finishers were Thatcher Olson in a time of 17:21; Clark Hanley, 18:05; and Xavier Howard, 20:04. The top age 12 and under runner was Yoshi
