Don’t miss Sandy’s 19th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival 2026! Enjoy early morning hot air balloon launches on Friday and Saturday morning, weather permitting. Then join us Saturday evening for our Balloon Glow-- dance party, inflatables, drone show and free activities. EARLY MORNING BALLOON LAUNCHES (*weather permitting): Dates: Friday & Saturday, August 7 & 8 Time: Sunrise (approximately 6:30 a.m.) Location: Storm Mountain Park - 980 East 11400 South Highlights: Tethered rides will be available (first-come, first-served) 50-80 feet in the air! We’ll also have food trucks, free latex balloons, and a morning DJ. (Hot air balloons will launch weather permitting.) SATURDAY EVENING BALLOON GLOW (*weather permitting): What’s a Balloon Glow? When the hot air balloons remain on the ground, and the burner is ignited creating the balloons to illuminate in the dark! Date: Saturday, August 8 Time: 7:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Location: City Promenade - 10000 S. Centennial Parkway Highlights: TBA SPECTACULAR DRONE SHOW (*weather permitting): Date: Saturday, August 8 Time: 10:00 p.m. (weather may alter start time) Location: City Promenade - 10000 S. Centennial Parkway. This is a FREE event to the public. Sandy City is not permitted to arrange private rides in the hot air balloons. Event Reminders: Please leave personal drones and dogs at home. Smoking and vaping are not permitted. Bikes and scooters must be walked through the event area.
